| For many decades, local magazines delivered news about the activities of associations and clubs, including listings of and advertisements for events. None of these were published by SCVSDA, but the ones listed here provide useful historical information about the activities of SCVSDA and its member clubs during those years. |
Square Dance - Where?1953-2005This magazine was initially published by SDCANC, and originally covered activities throughout Northern California, but came to have a narrower geographic focus as other publications started to cover more specific areas.Almost all of the issues of this magazine are online. |

Square Dance News1957-1980This magazine provided coverage for what became the SCVSDA area and other activities in the southern part of the SF Bay area.Many issues from the last few years of this magazine are online. |

The Prompter1979-2005Although there was a bit of overlap in the time that they operated, this seems to have in effect taken the place of Square Dance News for coverage of activities in the southern part of the SF Bay area.A significant number of the issues of this magazine are online. |
